To provide its core functionality, FocusTime requires the use of the Android AccessibilityService API.

Why we need it: FocusTime uses the Accessibility Service to detect the active application on your screen and read the view hierarchy to identify when short-form video content (like Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, or TikToks) is being displayed.
What it does: When distracting content is detected according to your rules, FocusTime overrides the screen to block the content and help you maintain focus.

Data Privacy: The Accessibility Service is used strictly locally on your device. We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information, screen content, or text typed by you while the Accessibility Service is active. All processing happens entirely on your device.

3. Data Collection and Usage

FocusTime is built with a privacy-first approach.

Personal Information: We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number.
App Usage Data: Your configured settings, focus schedules, and statistics regarding how much time you have saved are stored locally on your device. This data is not transmitted to our servers or any third parties.
Analytics and Crash Reports: We may collect anonymous, non-identifiable crash logs and basic analytics to improve app stability and performance. This data contains no personally identifiable information.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

Because we do not collect your personal data or device activity, we do not share, sell, or rent any data to third parties, advertisers, or data brokers.

The App may contain links to third-party websites (for example, our contact page). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of those third-party sites.
